Monday started off as most mornings do here in Australia - up at 7, out for a quick 3+ mile run down the Yarra River and then hang out in the business center for breakfast, catch up on emails, and surf the net until it's time to go to the tennis center. The matches I saw today were:
Maria Sharapova v Tamarine Tanasugarin
Caroline Wozniacki v Gisela Dulko
Roger Federer v Lukas Lacko
Yanina Wickmayer v Jarmila Groth (Australian)
Novak Djokovic v Marcel Granollers
Only one set lost by the winners in the 5 matches, all the favorites won. That was in the Wickmayer/Groth match which was fun to watch because the Aussies were pulling for Groth, but after winning the second set she dropped serve in the first game of the third set and lost 6-4 in the third. Drama eliminated.
It was a pretty cool day today. Upper 60s, rain clouds hanging around all day, lots of wind. Didn't feel like mid summer in Australia. I want it back in the 80s where we were when I got here on Sunday. Didn't do much wandering around either. After my morning ritual we hit the tennis, back to the hotel from like 5-630 to recharge, then back to the tennis for dinner and tennis. Got back around 1130 and went almost right to sleep. Back at it tomorrow.
